To solve

add the left side

6x + 3x = 9x

so now we know that 9x = 72

Now we have to isolate x

To do that we must divide both sides by 9

9x/9 = 72/9
or
x = 72/9
or
x = 8

So how much is 0.06 + 0.3?

If you know that sum [which we will call "S"] then you know the left side of your equation.

0.06x + 0.3x = 7.2
Sx = 7.2
x = 7.2/S
