There are so many meaning of a word. How can recognize the unfamiliar or unknown meaning of it in a sentence, especially few of them appear together in a sentence. Thank you.

It has everything to do with the context and use of the word. The thing that finds a words meaning is our instinct for the language.

There are two books, I think they are called Vanilla Vocabulary 1 and 2 by Nanci Bell and Phyllis Lindamood. I think it was about $25 each book. It will use the word in a variety of contexts, so you can become familiar with a variety of meanings for the same word.

do you mean that someone is being mean to you. type of sentence.

it depends on the context and to be honest if I was unsure I'd have to check it in the dictionary.

watch/watch - timepiece on wrist/to look out for/ pain in the butt really, dont know who the genius was who decided to use the same words for so many different meanings anyway.

must be hard when you dont know the english language and trying to learn it...they do say it is one of the most difficult.

Well, you can always look at some of the more familiar words in the sentance. Or you could look at the punctuation mark. Is it and exclamation mark? A question mark? If it's a ? that probably means that it means something confusing, or if it'sa ! it's something exciting.
