Maybe you have a misconception. I look back on the things I used to do when I was in high school or college, and frankly they don't seem fun any more. Getting stupid drunk, hanging out acting like an idiot until 4 in the morning, going to obnoxious parties, SPRING BREAK RULES! - I don't want to do that s**t any more.
Does that mean I don't have friends or I don't have fun? Not at all. Now I like things like dinner parties, going sailing, backyard cookouts - quieter activities. Things you might find "boring," but I don't. Sometimes I still go out to the bar until late, but I can't handle doing that too often. Also, I don't have a family and I'm not married, but remember that if you have kids, acting like you're in high school is irresposible. You need to be home and there for your children, and you can't tote them around with you while you're partying at 1:00 in the morning (at least you shouldn't).
Finally, don't forget the work factor. Older people work, in real jobs that require that we're mentally alert and sleep regularly.
In summary, younger people think older people are "boring," and older people think that younger people are immature idiots. Maybe we're both right.
By the way I'm 29.

It's because they are living in the real world, sunshine. A place where the meaning of life has been revealed and what they used to do when they were younger seems pointless and boring! The whole point is that they are NOT the same persons that they once were. You'll find out for yourself before long.

it depends on the person, i'me 51 and certainly not boring, and i really haven't changed that much since i was about 20, i like to have a good laugh i mostly work with young people anyway and have 2 sons 1 is 18 the other 23 and all their mates ask me and my husband to go for a drink with them, cuz they say we are cool and a good laugh so no the majority of older people are not borin

What age do you call old? Remember, younger generation not into oldies. We can and do lots of things (not bingo!) but you look at us like we aliens. We may have wrinkles and may be slower but we still feel 18 inside. Me 50+ grandma but have good dress sense, like a good drink, am v. broadminded and am up for a laugh. Youngster look down on us, remember you didn't invent fun, laughter, drink or sex! We just need you to listen to us - we can be surprisingly adventurous - boring is in your head. Get a life young 'un!

People may change as they get older /more mature but that doesn't make them boring. I am retired and I am having a great time, doing lots of the things I couldn't do because of work etc. I am not as physically fit as I was but that's not going to hold me back - I find many younger people boring - unable to think 'outside the box', not using their initiative, afraid to take chances, etc. etc. It is our responsibility to make the most of the life we are given!

People grow older and wiser.Learn that the way they were is not who they are or want to be anymore.I don't hang out in the streets, drink until I'm drunk cause i have to set an example for my children.Don't associate with thieves or drug users cause i don't do those kind of things and wouldn't want to be labeled as one. Some day it will all make sense to you.Just keep getting up.

As people grow their needs and attitudes change towards different things. Things you deem as high priority when a single living with parents will possibly seem menial when you have a family, partner and mortgage. It's not we become boring, it's just we have different ideas of a great time.

Because your priorities change.
Then you don't want to go out with a load of Teenagers/kids and a load of noise, you want to be able to talk and laugh and enjoy your friends so there are few places worth going.
So you stay home, and sadly get into the habit of watching TV and having occasional dinner parties with your friends.
I know cos ive become one of em.

Only boring people become even more boring. I'm 28. As you get older, you don't find the same things as exciting (like going out all the time). Other things become exciting, like travel, personal projects, gardening, ... We constantly evolve as we grow older. You have to keep up, continue to learn and continue to find wonder in your own life.
