long as she sends them checks. She does receive certain magazines, which she cannot read and they get pitched by her cleaning lady when she cleans her apartment. I am her only heir and have durable power of attorney for her business. How can I insist that they not send her any more bills and/or notices? Do you have an address / web site / phone number for Publishers Clearing House that I can use?

First of all, why is your mother living alone with such a dibilitating condition? Second, it doesn't matter if she is delusional and believes things that aren't true, she is your mother, she obviously gets joy from the Publisher's Clearinghouse sweepstakes, and what harm could it possibly do her or you to let her continue playing the game and subscribing to magazines? If your answer has anything to do with her "wasting your inheritance" then you aren't a worthy son. Let her have her fun, she doesn't have that much longer left. NEVER correct or scold someone suffering from Alzheimer's disease--they are unable to learn or remember new things.

If she has advanced stages of AD, she should not be with you, but supervised at all times. Even you need some help, because you may be losing yourself.
