it is not a matter of who is wrong or right because to me none are wrong. your friend was simply telling you the way that u react to things u are likely to treat your children the way that you rents treat you. i know it is painful to hear but i have the same problem, i have a short fuse as well and i chip off quite alot. however it is something that i am trying to change since my friend told me the way it makes people look at me, and the way it makes her feel when i do it. i was mad at first but then i took a long hard look and realized that the way that i am feel when my rents do it to me is the same way my kids will feel and it is not a good feeling. i did not talk to my friend for a while but then i had to apologize because i realized that what she was saying could easily happen to me.

good luck.

Actions speak louder than words. If you yell at your "friend" now, and your dad yells at you for no reason, looks to me like you will probably follow in his footsteps....although you don't HAVE to....you could be more compassionate to others and actively work to not let things irritate you. Don't sweat the small stuff.

I'm not saying she's right, but before you yell try counting to 10, or calmy say to your friend "I don't feel like repeating it." No one's right or wrong, you both need to chill.

(Thanks for choosing me as best answer on another question!)

i would have to say prove ur parents wrong, treat ur kids the opposite of the way they treated u, u will get more respect that way and prove them wrong.

my father is like that. i have his temper but unlike him, i know how to put it at bay. if you can teach yourself how to put your annoyance aside, then you will be fine.
