A few years ago I came up with this during a time that I was wondering how to have peace in my home.

We have no control over the world and the chaos that rules within it, but we do have choices as to what rules within our four walls.

Hi. Thank you for sharing this. I am a young woman who has known both chaos within and without. That means that I have come to value a place of safety more than what money can buy. If you haven't been on the street, you don't know just how much you want to find four walls.

Not a bad saying. I like it.

However, I think that we do have some control over the chaos in the world, and I think that the world has some control over our homes.

false. you do have some control of the chaos (maybe not much). the chaos in the world will always spill into your four walled room.

Give first, rarely expect in return. Smile often. Be responsible over everything in your life, it gives you the control to create or uncreate all aspects of your existance. Always think positive.

It is a good one. I often say that "I cannot control the world, only the four square feet that I occupy." Thank you for your quote.
