We've gotten so many brands from our shower. My wife seems to want to go with the cutest and cheapest brands. I believe that pampers are the best. I had a child before and pampers were the only way to go. This is her first time through it all.

At first my husband and I tried Huggies and our son peed out of them all the time. So then we chose Pampers Swaddlers.. and it is definitely the way to go!!! And they also have really cute designs on them... And if she is worried about the price... you can get about 100 diapers for 17.96 at walmart!

I'm 38 weeks pregnant, but my sister just had a little baby boy in December. At first, she tried whatever was available, or on sale. She told me, since I'm having a little boy, that Pampers Swaddlers are the best! She never had a problem with him leaking out of the diaper, and I hear about other friends with newborns having that problem with other brands like Huggies. So, all I've bought so far are Pampers Swaddlers!

Hope this helps!

I used Pampers Swaddlers when my daughter was a newborn. As she got older, the Pampers brand wasn't quite right for her. They didn't fit her well and leaked a bit. Since then, I switched to Huggies and they are just right. Perfect fit and no leaks.

Recently, I participated in a survey where I was sent diapers to try for a week. They were a lower cost store brand diaper that I had never tried. They ended up being very soft with a great fit and no leaks. I was very impressed. I guess a higher price doesn't necessarily guarantee a better product.

As far as finding the right diaper for your child, it may just be by trial and error that you find what's best for him.

With my first child, my son, I only used Pampers(the swaddles ans Cruisers) they work well. With my daughter I started out that way until someone told me that White Cloud or Parent's Choice works just as good, so I tried them....and they did.....and their cheaper. They sell them at Wal-Mart and a case cost about $14 to $18 depending on if they're having a sale. You're going to pay at least $22 for a cas of Pampers and that's with a sale or coupon. BTW Luvs leak.

after trying so many brands and types you will find the ones that work best for your baby... for both my girls I couldn't use Huggies because for some reason they leaked so I could only use Pampers, but then for my son I couldn't use the Pampers because they leaked so I ended up using Huggies... all fit differently on every baby... so the best will be what you guys decide work best and fit right on your new one! Good luck and have fun experimenting!

Well dad I'm going to have to agree with your wife Ive had 6 kids so i guess that might make me an expert. When it comes to newborns because they lay down and are not up running and jumping the kind of dpr, just doesn't really matter they don't make as much of a mess as older babies but don't get to comfortable buying cheap diapers because when there about 7mths,or right when they start crawling there gonna need more support.PS.a friend But my favorite brand now and still is would have to be LUVS.

I used a generic brand the whole way through as well. I had a little trouble with nappy rash but it didnt last long. Why buy something expensive thats going to be pooed through. The disposibles in Australia, even the cheap ones are brilliant with a real cloth kind of texture- I wouldnt reccommend the plastic ones. I mean they werent cloth, but they werent plastic either- more like a really strong paper material. Oh well you get the drift.

Cloth diapers are best and cheapest to use in the long run.

Disposables put plastic, paper and chemicals against your baby's skin, is this really a good thing for the baby?? Not only that but with disposables you put all that paper, plastic, chemicals and human waste into our landfills. The human waste breeds all kinds of bacteria that filters down into our water systems, yuck! Not to mention that the diapers themselves take decades to decay, long after our own bodies decay they will still be there. Why do that to our environment? I think they should be outlawed.

With cloth, your baby will have less chance of getting diaper rashes, your baby will be wrapped in a nice soft cloth diaper and will be more comfortable. Your baby will potty train sooner because with the cloth diapers your baby feels it more when they are wet and messy and learn quicker not to like it and want to get rid of wearing the diapers.

Think long and hard about it. What are you really interested in? You should be interested in your baby's health and comfort, not your own convenience when it comes to changing diapers. Take care of your baby, they aren't supposed to be a convenience, they are little human beings that you are supposed to be taking the best care of, lovingly raising them to become happy and healthy productive adults.

Good luck.

If you have a Costco card it is cheaper to get the Kirkland brand. The only time I have a problem with them leaking is when he is starting to outgrow a size and I have to switch to a larger size. They are $29.99 for a box of 160, but that is size 4. Size 1 I believe you get like 184 diapers.
