First of all I don't do that, but the guys that do probally are not intrested in her. Maybe he just saw you as a good friend and didn't want to cross that line. Some girls already have the wedding dress picked out before the guy knows you're intrested in a relationship.

sometimes the boy don't want to hurt the female's feelings and by stop talking the girl is suppost to get the hint that they are not interested.
