I'm on a team thats for 9-12th grade kids but its not sponsored by the school. The coach doesn't get paid, it was all voluntary, but she's really...I don't know how to put it. She scheduled practices for 4:00 - 5:30 and none of us get out of school until 3:30 and the field is half an hour away. She says she had things scheduled before she even started coaching, and that that was the only time available to her. She didn't have to sign up if she had other things to do. But anyway, the schedule leaves us no time to get ready. She never has us stretch before OR after practices/games and we've done NO defensive drills. She complains that we give up towards the end of the game, and tells us she doesn't have to take that kind of crap when we'd never played a 90 minute game with only 2 subs. How on earth do I have FUN during soccer with such a coach?

You can put up with her, talk to her privately after practice in a mature way OR tell your principal or athletic department about it...

Well you do need athleticism. Trust me the more in shape you are the further you can hit the ball, and the more consistent you are. Play 36 holes in a day and tell me you're muscles aren't sore. It's obviously not a rigorous sport. But it's still using you're body physically. You need a wide range of flexibility to be good. Are all players who play sports athletic? No. So you're argument is pretty opinionated. But the greatest always have more athletic bodies than the average players. It's also still competition. Brain surgery isn't competition. Is football in the olympics? No. Is Golf? No (but it will be in 2016). Is Curling? Yes. Do you need to be athletic to be a good curler? No. And Poker shouldn't of ever been brought up in the same category as golf. And did you know during a real race NASCAR drivers burn like 10,000 calories and lose like 10 pounds per race. That's a lot more than football, basketball, baseball etc.
