very complex. some people do not know when they have childen they will end up own their own!

They are damed if they do, and damned if they don't go to work by some people e.g. complain about creches subisdy, and complain if don't go to work and get benefit. Raising children or working as a parent should be compared equally.either way parents have guilt (primarliy mothers). Why do fathers not do more? Why are many of them not even in the pricture (even when they said they would, and got off the minute the babay started crying, because they had less money, sex, etc, etc)

People can also try everything not to get preganant, and it still happens, they then decice that it is meant to be and keep them.

If we don;t reproduce we will become extinct, if yoru parents were celibate you wouldn't be here.

As society progresses, expectations become different, not now the days when you get married, stay together, husband has job, and is sole provider, mother care giver.Days long gone (as above). Have to move with the times. Is it correct that women with talent and brains, or a desire to socialise with people there own age and earn their money should not be allowed to, and employers lose it if they stick to narrow undeiverse worker profiles.

In many other countries creches are free, or employers gladly provide them free or highlty subisdised in recognition of above, people want to recruit and retain good staff, and in turn it creates another tier of employment. In some socieities childcare is communal e.g. kibbutz's, widr family/edlers etc.

Remember you were a child once, and if have not already got some could one day, this shoudl be helping your perspective.

It's not like the old days!!!

theres a great deal of pressure on parents to return to work after having children. There are incentives offered by the government to get mothers back to work . Women can't seem to win. Whatever decisionis made regarding work, either returning to work or staying at home. Someone always has an opinion. Most families need to have two salaries to survive, including paying huge amounts out to childcare facilities. Any help towards cost should be accepted.

You're right. It isn't you, unless you have been the one telling the government to foster that idea. This is one of the most difficult ideas for our government to balance. On one hand, we want to offer help to people who need help, but on the other hand we don't want to give a free ride to people just because they're lazy. In the time that our government has been willing to support people who either can't or don't want to support themselves, an entire culture of people has grown up to believe that our society owes them a life. Beware of the people who say "our children" because they are the ones who don't advocate personal responsibility. Beware of the people who know all about all the government grant programs and how to abuse those programs, because they are the people whose hands are in your pocket stealing the money that you pay in taxes. If we are to act compassionately as a society, we must always pay attention to who needs and deserves our help and who is just stealing from us, then we have to modify our programs when we see our programs being abused by those who don't really need or deserve our help. If we don't manage our social programs in this way, we will go broke and then there will be no help for anyone whether they really need it or not.

Are you saying that only the well off should have children?Where will the the policemen, soldiers,council-workers. etc. come from?Who is going to pay taxes to fund future pensions, etc.Anyway it's far cheaper to have women back at work, paying tax than have stay at home to look after children.Child-care also provides a lot of employment. Please think your questions through before posting them. Were your parents able to afford you?

I'm guessing you don't have children then? if you did you would understand. Personally I let my hubby work until the kids were older then went back to work-no creches.
people have mortgages and bills to pay when they have children it doesn't stop, working you have to pay for childcare-which takes all your wages so may as well stay at home, if government pays towards childcare then it worthwhile going to work and don't have to live on benefits.
If nobody had any children then we'd be a bit stuffed don't you think?

i give your answer 10 points. couldn't agree more. i think when a child has a child the parents should be responsible for them and the baby. if the parents were responsible maybe they would crack down on these kids, know where and who they are with and make them responsible citizens.
i know someone recently that found out her 15 yr. old. daughter was preg., she said they already went and signed up for welfare. easy way out, too easy. why not make them pay the money back when they become of working age. too many people have a hands out give me attitude.

Because the same people have worked all their lives and paid a bleedin fortune in taxes and quite rightly expect to get something back for their money, other than paying for the sponging junkie drop-outs who cream off all the tax money.

well, there are so many thngs in life u cant afford... but still u want them. besides, its better to have children and see them and help them grow up. its one of the life's greatest pleasure. and secondly, if parents are keeping their children to creche to go to work, they do cause they dont expect govmnt to pay, but to work and earn more so they can provide better things to their children.. i hope this helps u understand why.........
have a nice life...
