First record bought for me was by a school friend for my birthday - Sigue Sigue Sputnik "Love Missile F1-11"(!!!). First record I bought myself was Huey Lewis and The News "Power of Love" after hearing it in Back To The Future.
Both records set me up for what is now a deep-rooted love of all things metal (you can see how, surely...??!!). \m/

Jim Diamond - Should have known better! I remember my dad saving up ten ring pulls from Tennants lager cans and exchanging them in John Menzies for a 7" chart single for me! Must have been around 1983 i think!
