i think if Oprah died it would wipe out america. She's amazing, and i dont think america would be the same without her.

James Dean was my generation's idol. When he died suddenly in that car crash, it was devastating.
Steve Irwin's death has bothered me because he was such a great environmentalist.
When Earnest Hemmingway died, it shook me a bit because, as a kid, I read almost all of his books.
I remember when Kennedy was killed, partly because of the national Trauma but also because I was still with the Government then and he was my 'boss' so to speak.
But, you asked about a living person, and I would have to say Jimmy Buffett would effect me if he died.... Cher dying would also bother me a lot.

I think that I would be deeply effected if
Maya Angelou died. Her poems are from the heart, and they will always reach a heart.
