This answer actually depends on the age of your bunny. If your bunny is under the age of 6 months, is elderly (meaning 7-10 years old or older), or is pregnant or nursing kits, you want to offer an unlimited supply of alfalfa hay because they need the higher fat content that it provides. If your bunny is past the 6-month mark, and isn't in any of the other categories I listed, then you want to offer unlimited timothy or an orchard grass mix (bunnies usually love the extra seed that the orchard grass tends to have), because they don't need the higher fat of the alfalfa. Hay is not a treat...rabbits require a lot of fiber and roughage in their daily diets, and hay is how they get that...with the exception of if your bunny falls in the second group, alfalfa can be given once in a while as a treat. If you need any other help, please don't hesitate to e-mail me at kbviolin_98@yahoo.com and I'll try my best to help!

Alfalfa hay is higher in protein and I doubt your bunny needs this. Timothy hay would be better and is considered a roughage to file your rabbits teeth and help in digestion. They may also use it for bedding. It gives the rabbit a chance to graze since they are normally kept in cages, not on grass. This is very important for your furry friend. Also, if the cage has a wire bottom, make sure provide some bedding and to always check the bottom of their feet or hocks for sores. Wire bottoms can be very hurtful if not properly managed.

Usually Timothy hay and occasionally Alfalfa hay. This is considered food. Rabbits need a higher source of fiber than most animals. If rabbits do not get enough fiber, they can develop hairballs or intestinal problems.

always have fresh timothy hay available, as this is the best for them, but also as a treat they can have alfalfa hay. but make sure you have a constant supply of timothy hay, as well as rabbit pellets to give them the nutrition he needs. and make sure he always has water. :-)

Alfalfa is a richer hay...fills one up faster. Timothy is generally used for burrowing and nesting. Alfalfa can be food although you may want to add a vitamin supplement to it.

I have 4 rabbits and we get Timothy because it is richer and better for them. We give it to them everyday because it is part of their diet. If you have a doe with babies it is best to give her hay for nesting. We should keep in touch i can help with you with your rabbit.

i have had undesirable adventure with Alfalfa for both youthful and previous guinea pigs. they don't eat it. they look to easily like the timmothy hay a lot more desirable proper, at each age. also, when you're drawn to different aspects of feeding your pig: 've had guinea pigs for basically about 9 years. I supply each pig one customary sized carrot OR a million stalk of celery before i bypass to mattress each nighttime. that's continuously lengthy gone with the help of morning, and they prefer it. you may test diverse vegetables/end result ( like lettuce or apples) because all guinea pigs have thier own likes/dislikes (i stumble upon that so wonderful). I also continuously shop an total dish of pellets contained in the cage. My pigs like the colourful "puffs" and sunflower seeds that usually come contained in the fowl nutrients area. try one of those seeds and pellets and word what is going proper with your pig. Mine also like dried corn on the cob (purchase it on your community puppy shop). I also supply my pigs a heaping handful of hay (the golf eco-friendly kind) each nighttime. They looove that. also, try yogurt drops (discover at community puppy shop). They gobble those. yet surely supply them 2-3 an afternoon. supply your guinea pigs form of their eating routine for the proper outcomes. they have their favorites. and also you truly do not might want to be so careful with pigs. they're really straightforward going even as it comprises weight-reduction plan, no longer having the wettail concern hamsters frequently have, and see you later as you're taking uneaten fruit/vegatables out of the cage after 24 hours, you shouldn't have any issues. have relaxing sorting out new meals with your pig!
