No it's not bad for your skin but the creamy foundations will clog your pours. Try Laura Gellar creme to powder foundation. It has SPF 20 in it as well!! It has a creamy consistancy but it is actually baked. It is amazing, makes you look flawless, and just lies on top of your skin. Hope I helped <3.

If you have combination skin, then you should treat these areas like two separate skin types. Products which claim to balance them both out tend not to be so effective.
Modern foundation isn't as bad for our skin. The best type of foundation is known as non-comedogenic (won't block pores). For your oily skin I would recommend a matt foundation, much better than liquid which tends to go shiny within an hour. First use a primer to even out your skin tone, smooth over blemishes and disguise imperfections. I love the one in the Boots Number 7 range. Then use a matt foundation such as Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse. Finish with a light dusting of powder. During the day take with you blotting paper - the absorb excess oil and leave a light veil of mattifying powder.
For your dry skin, I would recommend a tinted moisturiser, or a foundation specially formulated for dry skin. Personally, having combination skin myself, I use W7 tinted moisturiser. Just apply like normal face cream, and it gives you a healthy glow and baby soft skin.
hope this helps, feel free to email me using my yahoo address if you have any more questions. take care! x

Today's foundation formulations now have wonderful ingredients which acutally moisturize, make the skin tone look clearer, even skin tone and help with oil breaks during the day.
Some of the best ones to try are from L'Oreal HIP (very good price and amazing color selection!), ERA Face, Sue Devitt, Laura Mercier or if money is no object Creme de la Mer Face Color is fantastic.

No, it is not bad for your skin, in fact a lot of them now have SPF 15 at least in them, so they are actually good for protecting your skin from the sun's harmful rays in case you forget your sunblock. It also keep debris and dirt from collecting on your skin throughout the day.

It can be bad for your skin if you don't wash it off daily. It may also cause a person to breakout depending on the skin tone. Otherwise, it's a good way to cover blemishes.
