I don't really think it is rock n' roll so much that has gone wrong. It's more the music industry. There are a lot of great rock bands out there today, but they don't get the attention and the money that some other genres such as Pop, Dance, and Rap do these days. Which sucks!! The industry people are just not putting their efforts into rock acts for the most part and that's the problem. We get force fed this Pop and Rap crap! I can't handle much of it anyway. Honestly I do see rock coming back a little in the last 2 years. I think it will came back strong eventually, but they need to sign better bands than Nickelback and **** like that! I love Jack White and his two bands, Coldplay and Tool are pretty damn good bands too. I'm a big Motley Crue fan too, so I'm happy they are doing one more album before they do a farewell tour. I've seen The White Stripes, Tool, Coldplay and Motley Crue live all in the last what 14 months. They were all awesome shows!!! Rock is still alive, it just needs the record companys to step up and run with a few good new rock bands and things will change. Rock n' roll rules the world as my good 360 friend always says! It will never die, just stumble for a bit perhaps.

When all these modern guys came around. Foo Fighters, the Killers, etc... are just wanna-be's and they suck. There is no musicality in their songs. Most of their songs make Kiss look like good musicians.
And hail mrbernstien...... what he said is right on the money. These new guys claim to be influenced by the ond guys but they do remixes and just have no respect for the old guys. Look at Rick Rubin's remix of We will Rock You. He completely ruined it. On the back of the News Of the World ablum (the Queen album it was on) they put the "remix ruined by Rick Rubin" as the caption for his remix.

When the new musicians have no respect for the classics. Many of the older rock bands respected the old blues masters like Howlin' Wolf, Lead Belly even enjoying classical music. Nowadays, there is no music appreciation and most new musicicans only look to their peers for influences which makes for a limited band of creativity.
