If you think that 40 is the onset of old age, you have strange ideas of what is old, or you have led a very rough life. 40 is when a man just begins to come into his own. I am 65, and do not consider myself to be old by any standards. I started two new businesses in the last 5 months! And both are going very well. Age brings lots of great things with it. Relax, go with the flow, open your mind and you will find true joy in life.

How much you have learned through your life, how much you can teach another, how much you appreciate the world now, how much more confidence you have. I would go on............but I will stop at this. Another thing you are not sliding into the abyss, you are sliding into being your own person with a lot of savvy.

first off, your not THAT old just yet, 30-47 your not too much older then when you marry, but you will learn to enjoy the company at your home, you will learn wisdom for doing more observing and refring to your past, and you dont have to do alot of work if you got kids or grand kids. things that happen to you are determined good and bad by how you feel about them, if you feel sad and depressed about aging, you will be sad, and if you dont mind slowing down a bit and are begining to realize "its time to think about retirement." then you'll be a happy guy with lots of laffy tafy for the kids in your cabnet! thats how my granpa was! but my gramdma never let him eat any junk food, she was a nurse and a bit of a health freak heh.
