I'd rather have a doctor who concentrates more on his patients than the make of his vehicle and cell phone. Advertise that you are taking new patients. Many people do not bother looking for a family doctor because no one takes new patients anymore. So they just flood the emergency ward with every sneeze and hiccup they experience. Also, your clinic location might not be all that easy for people to find, or if its in a bad neighborhood, people might just avoid going there. Spruce up the office so it is inviting and not as cold and heartless looking as a lot of them do. But if you aren't a flashy person, don't change just because thats what people want. It's what you do for a living, not what you do with your living, that should count to your patients.

i think you are doing OK is just that it takes time to built a reputation.I have seen that allot of people don't really care on what the doctors knows but on how much he or she cares . Is all about caring and let them know that you will do all that you can for them. I always say if it sounds good has logic mechanism most be true, and that's how people grade there doctors is just common sens. And not really by a show of possession's or great office .Some of the domes doctors I have ever met are the ones with great offices and a big show and that how i think about then great actors but no caring or common sens in there practice

I am sorry that things are like this in today world
I don't think you should compromise the way you are so that people will think differently of you.
Don't worry about what people think of you because sooner or later they will wake up and be like i should have been going to him all along if you are warm and spend time with each patient to see what needs they have your practice will increase just due to word of mouth
So no i don't think you should do anything to try and update yourself because you are not trying to sale yourself you are there to help others

being simple doesn't make u r a loser. the point though is that because yr profession has to do a lot with appearance u have to take care of it. yr a doctor, and people trust important issues to u, so try to dress better (not expensier- just better), buy a better cell (not expensive but sthg that looks good) and buy a better bike (again..not expensive, buy a used one that looks pretty). have to understand, u have to sell yrself as sthg strong, good looking and powerful.use good language, look mature and certain of yrself. be simple outside the office. yr job acquires that u r not a show off, but someone who should be respected.

Where are you? If you work in a major medical center in a large city, I can see why people go elsewhere. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with your style, just you need to meet the needs and standards of the clientele. Perhaps you would do better in a small town where people tend to trust someone down to Earth, like themselves.

Please don't change! The last thing this world needs is a doctor who puts on airs just to please his patients. We need doctors who care. My father passed 5 months ago and his last few days were a living hell (for him and us, his family) because his doctor put on plenty of airs but it was obvious the only person he cared about was himself. There are people all over this country and the world who need you. I don't have insurance so I can't afford a doctor who wants everything I have worked for just to send me to another doctor who wants anything I may have left. But it would be much easier to come up with the money if I knew of a doctor who would give me straight answers without a lot of run-around. It probably isn't you but the patients. A lot of people are looking for easy answers without listening to your advice. They want you to cure them even though they don't want to do what you tell them they should. Please don't change yourself--please try to find the people who really need you to help improve their health and their lives. If you try to change who you really are, you'll be letting yourself down as a person and you will be letting down a whole bunch of humble people who need the person and the doctor you really are. May God bless you and help you find the answers and the people who appreciate you as you are. But please don't change to suit other people. Just be the person and doctor that is truly in your heart.

Don't you dare change! I can't stand going into a Dr.'s office anyway it just makes it that more unappealing when the are to flashy! Just try some nice advertising and be honest about how you want to treat people. You'll have more business that you'll know what to deal with. Good Luck!
