You lose points by asking a question
You get some of those points back by choosing the best answer on questions you have asked
You get two points for answering a question - which is where your question comes in!
You get points for having the best answer for someone else's question
You also get points for rating answers when the asker cannot be bothered to pick the best! (you find these on vote on undecided questions)
As you get more points, you go up the levels. As you go up, you can ask and answer more questions.
