Higher education provided to people from other countries is a major industry in the United States. In many countries the number of people who can attend college is limited by the few spaces available. Just about every college has foreign students and they pay the full freight-no government loans or grants. Hopefully, the Saudis by coming here will learn that Americans are nice people and not to be hated. Hopefully they will learn that women are not chattel, but intelligent people who deserve to be treated as equals. I am not a fan of Bush, by the way. I think any Arab students who come over here should be carefully screened.

1- There is strong ties between this Muslim Kingdom & the USA.
2- 90% of those students are from the royal and wealthy families
3- Special personal kickbacks for Bush are recieved from those families.
4- Thousands of Dollars can be spent by the students and families to stimulate the economy of certain local areas.
5- A nice gesture on Bush's part to stop Saudi Government from griping about our troops stationed on their land. In this case, we prolong the military occupation in Saudi Arabia for more deterence in the MidEast.

Its unfortunate to see the views & perceptions of so many users here, towards a particular religion/race. If Isreal bombs Lebanon, on the pretext of fighting with Hizbollah, then the world keeps mum. Did anyone here realise that how many innocent civilians lost their life in the onslaught of Lebanon.

Where were those people, who ciritise a section of a particular religion, when innocent died, civilian areas got decimated & injured left to rot. If a few saudis have done wrong, for God's sake stop blaming the relgion.

Dont throw stones, when you lliven glass houses. Dont forget the fact that its the middle east oil reserves you people are using. If prestige matters for all who hate Saudis, I dare them to stop using their products. Dont be a double standard person. Stop this htared of each other. PEACE is what we need now!

The Bush family always had a friendly relationship with Soudis. This goes to the time of senior Bush. So no wonder they want Soudis to study. The irony is that many of the 9/11 terrorists were all from Soudi Arabia.

There have been Saudi Arabian students being educated in the US every since they have been able to afford educations. So what is the big deal? Don't you think that maybe if they get to know the real America there won't be such a divide? Besides its the colleges that are competing for them. Don't worry, they will pay their own way.

An educated, cosmopolitan, and hopeful Saudi population is the best thing for Saudi Arabia, the region, and the United States. As jingoistic as you may be, people are people the world over.

I'd rather have them here studying how to build bridges than "over there" learning how to strap bombs on themselves.

u know, i hate BUsh and i disagree with all Americans who have become racists because of the attacks. i get a part of it though. .u think they have began a war but truth is, BUsh did. i don't believe in terrorism, dislike the face of Binladen and his acts, but get over it: not all Arabs are terrorists. besides, Bush would do anything to give more $$$$ to the US.

US A's policy's have always been questionable. They say we want to eradicate terrorism, but their friends are Saudi Arabia & Pakistan, which are hotbeds of terrorism.
