I have kind of a grudging respect for them. There are things I don't like about them, slavery. But feel they are among the most impressive Civilization to ever exist and certainly the most influential. The modern world owes them credit for things we take to be ours.

Okay, I love the culture. I do. It's one of my focus points of study. They held a strong empire, a huge empire, and kept it together for quite a while.
On the other hand, their major accomplishments in technology were mainly pilfered from Greek theories...although they were the first to put them into practice. Really, if you look at the culture overall, they were extremely utilitarian---even their religion was mostly bargaining for favors.

I think they were brilliant. But I 'm afraid if we don't change our mode in America, like the Romans, we will fall.

Having visited Rome this June, i have to say there will never be a race like them ,love or hate them we have alot to thank them for in out modern world.

At the rate we are going (with Bush helping us along), their civilization lasted alot longer than American's will.

they were awesome. the only problem they had was they spreaded themselves too thin to conquer the known world
