I know they can both be classified as ad-ware, but which is worse?

I would use neither. Both are probably OK because most reliable companies do not want to tarnish their good name with too many ads. It's my guess that the google toolbar is really trying to answer your search queries, and not ADVERTISE per say.

But I would use neither, because I want more screen space for the webpage that I am looking at. Extra Toolbars are BOGUS.

I like the yahoo toolbar, and I have a few spy-ware and virus software and none of them has picked up yahoo toolbar as spyware. Yahoo toolbar even has it's own, spyware protection tool.

i think google toolbar is worse bcoz it provides the less interactivity to the user as we compare it from the yahoo .
yahoo provides easy to access all the yahoo icons are indicated at front of the window when it open.and if a new person access the yahoo site it provide convience for the new user if it not much aware of the sites

Define "worse"? I think the Yahoo bar is "heavier" meaning it seems to use more resourses. But it really depends on what you are using it for. Google does give you the option of turning off"info sharing".

Nah they're not malicious. They don't attack your system: they're meant to ease your journey on cyberspace.

I would prefer google toolbar though... sorry Yahoo!
