None at all. Pay a visit to the Tourist Development Centre in Kuala Lumpur and other main cities. You will be able to get sufficient information to get around. Most hotels will have a copy of the City Guide which gives you info on hotels, places to eat and visit. As in any other country hotels may run full during peak season, so it would be advisable to make advance bookings. And for food - you will be spoilt for choice.
There are many reputable travel agencies who would be able to guide you.
The only problem, if its a problem, one might encounter is language as Bahasa Malaysia is the national language. But be assured English is also used widely as is Mandarin/Cantonese and Tamil.
There's nothing to worry about. You will definitely enjoy your visit to Malaysia.

NO problems except occasional pickpockets...keep your stuff close to you, watch your bags etc... just the same precautions as you would take at home at night etc.
Food is cheap and really convenient (as well as SO tasty), many people speak English (of some form) and Malaysians are really used to foreigners now so there is no problem with standing out (not like in China for example!). Accommodation can be cheap but PLEASE avoid those hotels which are really cheap, like RM100/night - they are often terrible....choose something a bit more upmarket OR a youth hostel - the Number 8 hostel is good...they have dorms and a few double rooms....good value and really clean.
Enjoy your stay in my favorite country in the world...

getting accomodation and food would be easy. Especially food because we have them selling 24 hrs a day at most places. As for travel info, you can get them from hotels or anywhere you are staying.
