It does appear that you might qualify for Medicaid, at least based on your income (the federal poverty level is over $12,000 for a household of two). However, there are other factors involved with Medicaid eligibility, so I would go right to the source itself (link below). I’ve included some more ideas in the Source section.

To get health care now without insurance, try visiting a free clinic or county health department (links below). You also might check out the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, which describes various programs, including Sunshine for Seniors Program (link below). I’ve also included links to Needy Meds, a site with information on discount health care and drug programs, and BenefitsCheckup, a site where seniors can find out what kind of federal and state programs they might be eligible for.

If you find you can afford health insurance, try MostChoice.com. You can compare quotes and talk with multiple FL-licensed health insurance agents who will compete the win your business by delivering a health plan you’ll be happy with.

Hope this helps,

With your income level you should qualify for medicaid, call your Department of Health and Human Resources for information on that. Also check with your local hospital to see if there are any patient assistance programs.
