Arteries range in size both within a person, and within a group of people. The largest artery is the ascending aorta (the biggest vessel that comes out of the heart) measuring 3.5cm in diameter. With the vessels becoming smaller as they are further away from the heart. The smallest vessels (cappilaries) are microscopic and can only be seen under the microscope.

These are tiny blood vessels. Can not tell you exact size. My estimate is for eg arteries in the heart muscle should be around 1/2 mm to 1 mm.
