Four years ago my then best friend & I got into an argument that caused us to part as friends. Following the incident, she seemed to make great effort in severing the friendships I formed with other people. She constantly talked about me &, according to some, spread very false rumors about me being pregnant & aborting the child. I'd laughed at it at the time, but when rumors of all sorts began to come, I became depressed. She never confronted me herself but I'd hear bits & pieces from 'whisperers' & mutual friends who asked me not to repeat.

This was in boarding school. Now we're both going to the same university & I've found out she's continued to do the same. I'm not as bothered by it, but it hurts tremendously. I'm considering confronting her but I'm not sure how much it would achieve. I have a feeling that she's trying to get to me and I'm a little worried that forcing an argument would mean 'giving in'.

How would you handle this? Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

She probably wants attention, and by spreading the rumors thats how she gets it. I wouldnt go up to her and say something, I would just agnore it and if somebody asked me if one of the rumors were true I would just say no (becuase it would be none of there busness anyway). Hope I have helped!

Ever heard of the Pied Piper story. I'm gonna tell ya!
There's this man that had a flute pipe, and he wanted to show his talents off by showing everyone that he had magic in his flute. So he played his pipe and all of the animals followed behind him as he marched down the street, but there was this one small Mouse that never did and he became confused. So he pondered and pondered as to why his magic failed him and in the end the truth was revealed that the Mouse could not hear.

The Moral of this story is that people in general can lead you to the water, but you don't have to drink it right? So if you hear of something that is not right, then it wouldn't matter if you didn't hear for the first time that got you so confused like the Pipe and the Mouse. Undertaking what is not heard ios the real answer to solve your problems.

I am in the same situation with an old friend of mine and I stop doing things about the rumors he keeps spreading my real friends are not interested in that kind of rumors and neither am I. anyway I am a lot more popular in school both with girls and friends than he is so it is not that much of a problem for me and unfortunately I cannot really help you so good luck with your final choice.

confronted her and asked her what the hell is she doing???..but after doing it, and she still continue it, dont mind her..she maybe need lots of attentions from others...u know...lack of attentions...or maybe she has no friends to come with and she feel jealous to the people around you....just be yourself..and laugh out loud on those rumors and gossips...!!
