hose?When I moved to Tn everybody was always cutting things off or on I had never heard of such a thing and had no idea what a hose pipe was!!!

I might say "cut the lights" but not cut off the lights, I normally say turn off the lights, however. I also wouldn't have known what a hose pipe was. We say "hose" but know this refers to a garden hose, generally speaking.

I'm Canadian and I remember my friend dated an American and we drove down to visit him and had some trouble with words, either we said something and they didn't get it, or they said something and we didn't get it. And they only lived 2 hours away! We had an argument about transport trucks being called semis...

I say cut off the lights and I call it a hose or water hose.

i flip the switch to turn off the lights, to me a hose is like a garden hose and a pipe is metal.

Start engine and bring to normal operating temperature. If engine will not start or stalls after starting, proceed with next step. Turn the key "OFF", then wait ten seconds. Activate the self test by grounding the Self-Test Input (STI) connector. Turn the ignition key "ON". Record all codes received. Turn ignition "OFF". to reset disconect batt for 1 min press brake padle and then put cable back on. if the light is on there might be a code record the flashes first and then look at the code list fix as needed here is a link

Actually the same situation here. I am from Georgia, and moved to North East Tennessee.

I turn off lights and use a water hose.

In New York we close the lights. pretty weird. sometimes we shut them. we call a hose a hose.

Well... It is bit different with me I "gasim" lights and call it "crevo" or "guma".

But when lerning English I was told to turn off the lights and... well water hose is water hose.

i say garden hose and cutting the lights off! because your cutting off the circut to the ligh when you flipp the switch
