It seems to be reflexive to swing your arms as you walk. RIght arm swings with left leg and vice versa. I've heard it helps the blood circulate as you're walking.

People swing their arms for balance. However funny it may look, when people don't swing them, it's usually a symptom of a disorder, often Parkinson's.

you made me laugh thank you. i herd when you swing your arms it make you walk faster. that's what i heard. I'm not sure why people look strange when they don't move maybe there just thinking

Swinging the arms must help keep balance for mammals who walk upright., chimps and gorillas do it.

it is the evolution of man from four legged animal ,still having the residual habits.

we are tuned to see this action starting from the evolution to this form so it appears strange if it does not moves

think so you don't sway your hips outa joint, if when you walk, you hit your arms with your hips, then ya know ya gotta slow the motion down
