Tony should be in the chase and Kahne or Martin should be out. If Tony hadnt wrecked his car i gurantee he would be in the chase and Martin or Kahne would be out.

Poor Tony! He looked dejected when the race was over...you could just tell in his eyes. I feel terrible for him! He doesn't deserve to be out. However, I guess this year was tough because so many drivers were so fantastic this year...and it might have been harder than ever for Tony being out there with all those skilled drivers.
Being out of the chase does not prove that Tony has little skill or isn't taking it seriously. He just had a rough season. And it happens to a lot of those guys...like Jeff Gordon was saying that he had the same problem last year. Tony should focus on next year and not be too glum over what happened this year. I'm proud of him. He stayed calm this year, and was very generous and kind to his team, fellow drivers, etc. I know it must be really painful for Tony that he isn't in the chase, and I know he probably thinks his reputation and skill must be ruined. But that is so far from the case...as he will realize when time passes. Tony always will be the man, and he'll always make me, as a Smoke fan, very proud and happy...no matter where he ends up finishing!!!!

I have been a Nascar fan for quite a few years. I followed Big E...loved him. He was great. When Tony came into Nascar....I loved him right away too. I obviously have a love for "bad boys" that are also excellent drivers. I have seen Tony come from the very back and win a race. I have seen Tony a lap down...make his lap up without the lucky dog. I like talent like that. Not drivers that win because of all the "new" rules. I think the lucky dog is wrong. If you don't earn it back you should be allowed to just get a lap back. I also think the race to the chase is wrong. I just think they need to stop fixing things that aren't broken. Just because they want it to be comparable to "play offs". Nascar is Nascar and I like old school. I like the rules that worked...not these useless ones. Who wins should win because of there talent not because they were given laps back or made 5 points away from each other. I have been dissappointed every since these rules. It's sad that they can't just race anymore.

Tony is my favorite driver however nobody "should "be in the chase for any reason other than earning their way in as per the rules set up to determine who qualifies.Tony showed a huge amount of class last night in the post race interview,he was extremely polite and calm he congratulated the ten drivers who made the chase, you could see the disapointment on his face and hear it in his voice but he DID NOT CRY ! In fact I have been watching NASCAR long before Tony showed up and have paid paticular attention to his career since he hit the circuit and I have NEVER seen or heard him cry !

The past champions provisional cannot work with the Chase format. Creating a Defending champs provisional is equally silly. I'm sorry he had a bad last race but that's how it shook out. Richmond isn't the defining race, just the last chance.

I am disappointed as well, but not for the same reason as you.
I hate the anti-climatic Chase for the Cup. I am a die hard fan but I tried not to watch the race last night because that is all they spoke about. Heck, the announcers are so bad and made so many mistakes the said they were at Bristol last night.

NASCAR has certain drivers that they want to be champions, well this year was not Tony's year. After last year when JR and Gordon did not get in the chase the rules were changed so they would be in it.The past champion should have a spot if he was close enough to the "magic 10".

Well don't be disappointed, let me tell you a joke to make you feel better.
, and the jokes goes:
-Doctor! I have a serious problem, I can never remember what i just said.
-When did you first notice this problem?
-What problem?
One more joke:
A guy calls his vet and says "What should I do with my cat?Vet says "What do you mean? Guy says "I had a leak in my lawnmowers gas tank and the cat drank the gas. Then the cat began to run around and around the yard, climbed a tree. then fell out of the tree stiff. Vet says "Is the cat dead? Guy replies "nope he ran out of gas.
Last of all just want to tell you that whatever you do, just don't give up. Also you must love and care for the people around you. In that way they will also show you the love that you show to them. Just be yourself and happy everyday. Wish you all the best and good luck!!

You gotta earn your way in.....its sad he couldn't make the top ten. He deserves to be left out though...he wrecks everybody just to get position instead of actually racing people. It all started at Daytona when he wrecked Kenseth....and it happened a few weeks ago knocking Bowyer into Edwards which killed Edwards chances of making the top ten. He does it all year long and its NEVER his fault, always somebody elses.
