At 12 weeks, I don't know whether to be excited or nervous, or to not let myself feel anything at all. Has anyone else gone through this?

Oh honey, so sorry, but don't worry. There is no reason to believe that anything will go wrong this time, ok? Try not to worry, please, it is not good for the baby.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how painful that is. At least this time, your doctor is aware of what happened last time. They can monitor your progress at lot more often and keep a closer eye on things. I wouldn't worry about the same thing happening again this time, though, just because you had a problem before. More than anything else, you need to not be stressed out about things.. for your sake and for the baby. Good luck with everything.

Oh honey, first of all try not to worry yourself...it isn't good for you or the baby.

Secondly, let your doctor tell you what the next steps are. I would imagine that you have already had a sonogram. He may suggest an amnioscientesis. This will show any problems that a baby may be experiencing.

Blood tests are also very good indicators.

You must be the one to decide whether on not to carry this pregnany on based on what the doctors tell you.

I have had friends told that they had babies with downs syndrome and rather than aborting, they decided to live with the baby that God intended for them to have. When the babies were born, they were as healthy as could be.

We will be praying for you!

I'm sorry to hear that... Every pregnancy is different you just have to think positive and do the right thing. Take your prenatal vitimins, folic acid, eat right and make sure that you go to all your doctors appointment, so your pregnancy can be monitored.

I have had bad pregnancies myself but not exactly what you went through, things like miscarrage, having a baby prematurely etc. I have 3 children and I am pregnant now with my 4th. I did not give up.. (Good Luck)!!!!

I would be terrified, I am soooo sorry that you had to experience that. I know its hard to listen to someone when they say, just be positive. But thats the only thing you can do at this time. Just be positive, theres no point to be miserable the whole pregnancy. Enjoy it. Thats all I did was worry for the first 12 weeks of this pregnancy, I am 21 weeks now and I still have fears but I talk them over with my husband. Emotional support is what you need. I wish you luck!

Allah says He gives any shape He wills. He is the creator, sustainer, cherisher of the Universe and all those in it.

Do not worry, you can not do any thing against the will of Allah, Almighty.

Pray Allah, the Creator. He is most compassionate.

You or any one else or any human being can not be more compassionate that the Creator himself.

This is life is a test.

Further, Allah says "The victor is to those who are patient and are steadfast in prayer".

Prayer is the only medication and solution to all your problem.

the best thing for you to do is talk to your doctor about the chances of this baby having the same problem then go from there I hope everything is okay and good luck

Find a doctor who specializes in genetic counseling. Your feelings are very common and to be expected. However, to translate your fearful feelings into facts that you can face, please get genetic counseling. Places that usually have genetic counselors are fertility centers or institutions. Just check Yahoo Yellow pages.

if the birth defect was possibly genetic I would have had my tubes tied and adopted an older child

the world is plenty populated enough for me to risk putting another burden onto it...

sorry just my opinion
