My husband got a tattoo a few months ago at a local shop and now, months later after it has healed, parts of the outline of the tattoo and other areas seem to have scar tissue forming. The skin is very bumpy and unpleasant to touch. He has several tattoos and has never had this happen before. He took care of the tattoo as recommended, so what caused this to happen? Could it be the tattoo artist simply worked too quickly?

if he did "drill" him
your husband can get the area retouched after 6 month
when the skin's fully healed
and yes try a different artist for that

but it may also just be that your husband's skin has aged
and doesnt react the same to scaring and coloring

understand that anything different in his blood compound
or new diet or skin freckle can point to a different skin reaction

try to use a more concentrated formula on his skin
like tattoo goo
and be sure to keep his skin away from the sun before and of course after tattooing

btw next time you stumble into a promiscuous tattoo parlor
look for the abuse potatoes to mark a place with newbie tat artists

No. It could be the tattoo artist worked too deeply, or was using a hooked needle, or your husband had a slight allergic reaction to the ink during the healing process. Not all artists use the same ink, even if it is the same color.
