Your preganancy is counted from the first day of your last period. So once you miss a period, you are already 4 weeks pregnant.

It's based upon your last menstrual period . You will need to know the first day of your last period. When counting your monthly cycle, you begin with the first day of your last period, which is day 1. By the time you have missed your period, you are already about 4 weeks pregnant.

You should count from the day WHEN U HAD STARTED YOUR LAST NORMAL MENSES.

Example...if u had menses started on 5-8-06...bleeding for 3-4 days...then you became preganat due to contact arround 20-8-06 and then you missed period on 5-9-06 which was expected if you were not pregnant...then "5-8-06" is the date from which you calculate "GESTATIONAL AGE"

Due to variability and irregularity of women's cycle it is BEST TO DATE PREGANACY by SONOGRAM in every Lady...(especially those having irregular periods)
