Liquid A is a colourless liquid with a sweet smell. Some of it is added into a beaker of hot solution X and is left in the laboratory. Liquid A is immiscible with water and floats on top. After a few minutes there is a strong sweet smell of Liquid A throughout the laboratory.

Explain why the smell of Liquid A becomes stronger when it is added to the beaker of hot solution X.

Thanks =)

The smell gets stronger because the heat causes more of the liquid to evaporate, to evaporate faster, allowing more of the molecules of liquid A to diffuse into the surroundings and increasing the concentration of liquid A's molecules in the air.
