Let me set the record straight on Dr. Renee Richards. She is an ophthalmologist and surgeon practicing in NYC.

His name was Richard Raskin. He was a ranked player as a male. Her prominence in women's tennis came to light when she attempted to play in the US Open as a woman. She was Martina Navratilova's coach and friend for many years.

Renee Richards is her name
before she became a woman, her name was Richard Raskind

She was never in the Olympics, but she was on the Yale tennis team as a man...

Despite what Mackensie says, Dwight Davis did not by any means invent tennis. Also in Davis cup, there are 5 matches, 4 singles and one doubles, not 5 games. To win, a team must win 3 or more of the matches.

Renee Richards , a dentist or former dentist in NY City use to be a man until after he/she had a re-assignment sex surgery done. I think it was about 30 yrs. ago that it was done and I believe her former name was Richard Richards.
