no we have the free will to be what we want
I myself strive on becoming self sufficient
because everything is killing us that is man made
we have to learn how to survive because life is becoming
an obese nation, a starving nation
I agree with what you said
I am alot more shallow than i thought- and i need material things to make me happy. it's terrible.

And for this reason I want to become more like the Amish
people. Al tho I do not have their beliefs, I think that
the way they live is a true survival course we all need

I am glad you wrote what you did
for it is truly food for thought
And i see you changing somewhat for the better
when you said how shallow you were
Most of us are

It's called modern advancement. Yeah, most people are used to modern convenience, so when you don't have that, it is a culture shock. We live in a microwave society. Everyone has been trained to expect instant gratification. As technology advances, that realization is only going to become more apparent because we improve things to benefit man.

We also have that thing called the "Jones Syndrome" where everybody is trying have more than his neighbor. You know. He who dies with the most toys wins!

In one of Zig Ziglar's seminars, he stops talking for a moment, takes a big gulp of water, and asks the audience how many of them want a drink of water. The crowd overwhelmingly responds Yes! He then asks them, "How many of you wanted a drink 30 seconds ago?'" Very little response.

Bottom line is, we want what we see others have, and advertisers make sure we see their product all the time.

Do you think it's possible to go one day without seeing any advertising, anywhere?! it's everywhere.

i think the explanation why the 'New 10 Commandments' do no longer artwork is with the help of the fact they pass away God out of the equation. in spite of the indisputable fact that the goals and goals are laudable, human beings refuse to correctly known that they are sinners and that they choose forgiveness. Their delight (it extremely is sin) gets contained in the way. additionally, this technology fails to appreciate why God's 10 commandments are for our sturdy. particularly of putting self first, God comes first. If God comes first in our lives, something fall into place. the 1st 3 of the unique 10 commandments refer directly to our dating with God. The fourth is prepared on our dating with God and with others, and the final six warn against harming human beings. If we at the instant are not precise with God and with human beings, then we are dropping our lives notwithstanding we do. Jesus got here to fulfil the regulation and he summed up each and all of the regulation and prophets via saying we would desire to continually love God with each and everything we've and love our neighbour as we adore ourselves. God first. Others 2nd. Self final. comparable concept. Paul mentioned the we does no longer be attentive to what sin substitute into different than during the regulation. "For i does no longer have familiar what coveting extremely substitute into if the regulation had no longer mentioned, 'do no longer covet'. So then, the regulation is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and robust'. (Romans 7:7, 12) merely by using fact Jesus presented a clean commandment does no longer mean to assert we are unfastened to break any of God's unique 10 commandments. And the suggestion that those commandments notice in basic terms to organic Jews is to pass over the factor completely, by using fact the ten commandments have been binding upon Gentiles who lives with the Israelites. God knew it would be impossible for persons to maintain his rules and subsequently he made provision for the forgiveness of sin during the ransom sacrifice of Jesus. yet whilst human beings refuse to correctly known the life of a holy and righteous God, in the event that they think of they might stay without being held responsible for his or her movements and in the event that they do no longer choose to make certain the choose for forgiveness, then they are lost. God first, others 2nd and self final is the underlying concept of the unique 10 commandments and of the gospel message.
