I guess to be fair to everyone anyone that answers a question should be 2 points but I try to answer the questions that I know the answers too. If someone is going to take the time to type a question, they deserve a good answer.

Just remember the people who answer with stupid comments are from the shallow-end of the gene-pool and require something to stimulate their little brains and boost their self-esteem, so if giving them 2 points helps make them a better citizen then who are we to deny them?

While it is exceedingly annoying, along with blatantly rude and ignorant answers, I dont see how it can be stamped out other than having a team of people to monitor the responses and deciding if they should be allowed or not

No they shouldn't. It makes me mad when someone answers just for points with something rude, cruel or just plain stupid. I say if you don't have something constructive to say then find a question you can give an intelligent answer to!

they should deduct 2 points for I don't knows and stupid comments that are neither funny or informative. That will wash out the idiots and the twats.

The policy seems to be that participation needs to be valued;
at the same time, frivolous answers are not expected to be significant in number

Well does it matter? I can't really see much benefit in points. ....and in any case I reckon you need to be unemployed to get loads of points as doing this seems to take a lot of time up.

well yahoo set up the system and they let them have the points, but there's this little flag below their answer you can click and protest to yahoo if you want.

No they shouldn't and when we rate them with a poor answer they should get deducted points.
