Most WiFi access point systems will receive the name of the computer, the one you have typed in System Properties. If you call that your full name, you can be traced. If you call it "xxx", you can't.
A webpage can tell what IP address you log in from, but not your computer name.

Yes. A computer using a WiFi acces point can be traced because it has the same behaviour as a radio emmiter and it can be traced using triangulation. Having assigned an IP the administrator can see the "fingerprint" of your computer and can send this to a software which can actually detect you using wifi antennas nearby. It works like detecting a mobile phone. Same principle. The scary answer is: YOU ARE NOT ALONE! The accuracy nowadays is measured in milimeters. So, with an error of 1 to 100mm smb can find your computer... And this is not a spy stuff.

I don't think it can be traced (e.g. they can know physically where you are), but it can be detected.
The WiFi provider can see who has access to the system, detect your IP address and may see the sites that you access through log files.

Yes, any wifi device can be detected because it produces a signal. If it can be detected it can be traced.

yes it can, like someone said, triangulation for a start and ip logging, because ip is geographically produced so if you move around it will be different as your isp will change it dynamically, however the mac address of your comp does not change and can be logged.
so whatever you're thinking of doing or downloading...dont
