cannonballs wouldn't have the necessary velocity or power to generate a wave that would kill you ... however HESH rounds used by the british army in Challenger 2 tanks have the power to wip out squads of troops just by being fired near them.

It all depends upon factors such as velocity of object and how close it zips by. A cannon ball from a [US] Civil War era cannon, probably not. A modern shell from a larger artillery gun or even a naval gun, more than likely yes. The concussive effect of the shockwave caused by the projectile's path can easily do damage with its "punch" such as bruising and even internal body damage. Modern guns use more powder or charge and have much much higher muzzle velocities. Plus, in the case of certain naval shells, modern projectiles are much larger compared to a cannon ball. In the last days of battleships during WWII, procedure for sailors was to evacuate the deck before the bug guns opened up.

Yes, if the cannon ball was soak in kerosene the flame could catch the hair spray on your empty head on fire.

shock wave would hurt and probably seriously injure you, but not killed, i dont think. Well it depends on how close.
