I have always liked Kerry Collins, however I think if the Titans win today, it will be because they are playing the Jets and not because of Collins himself. You know, bringing in Collins sort of reminds me of the Redskins bringing in Mark Brunell a few seasons ago. I think by bringing in Brunell, it stunted the development of Patrick Ramsey and ruined his confidence. Strangely enough Ramsey now plays for the Jets. I wonder if the addition of Collins will do the same to Volek?
As far as Vince Young is concerned, I think he is a few years away from becoming a legitimate NFL quarterback.... but he may help sell tickets.

Yep, Kerry Collins is expected to start today's game, although the team has yet to name an official starter. The Titans have named rookie Vince Young the No. 2 QB, meaning that either Collins or Billy Volek will be the No. 3/emergency QB for the team. Volek entered training camp as the starter, but Collins signed with the team a week before the end of the preseason and has progressed enough to be a legit starter for the Titans.

Collins appears to be the most likely to start, but Young is the one with the best long-term potential.

I'm not sure. Playing the Jets gives any team a chance for a "W". I think Kerry Collins has the potential to be a good QB for the Titans. Vince Young probably needs a little time to get more familiar with the team, the playbook, the NFL in general. I'm thinking he will be a superstar in time. This year most observers are expecting very little from the Titans. With Jacksonville and Indy in the same division, it would be hard to imagine the Titans acheiving even a 8-8 year, but nobody really knows.

the real question is which call against the titans was the very worst ... reasonable minds can differ but it is hard to argue against the pass interference call in the first half that wiped out the interception and set up the first Jets TD

Kerry Collins will help the titans win games this year
