Welcome to How to Really screw up my Computer 101
If you are a beginner you should not go to the registry. This is the computers DNA if you will. You change it, you change your computer. Could be cause for major restore. If you want to dare....
Start - Run -regedit - Enter
If any of your team is caught or captured the secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. Good Luck !

As a beginner it is very tempting to delve in the registry. Follow the advice of the others that say DONT unless you are prepared for a reinstall of Windows. However, if you have WXP create a Restore Point. If you can't do this dont go any further. If you can, do so. Then you can click on "Start"; "Run"; and type regedit. Then you will see the can of worms you could be entering. If you blunder (We've all done it) Restart in Safe Mode or Last Known Good Configuration and run system restore. I would suggest running something like FreshUi. This is a user friendly registry editor and will allow certain changes for you. Also run Registry Mechanic. Great program.

First you don't want to play with the registry in your comouter. Just get Registry Mechanic. It will scan your registry and fix the problems automatically. You have to pay for Registry Mechanic. But it will help.... Works Great!

Logic1812's right... don't tamper with your registry if you're a beginner.
Why do you want to do so in the first place? Perhaps there's some programs running wrongly...
There's registry fixers available online: such as this one: http://www.freeregistryfix.com/

If you're a beginner, I don't recommend that you touch the registry...! Unless you love reinstalling Windows! :)
Ask a friend who know that he's doing.
BTW: If you ever want to start it:
"Start"->"Run"->Type "regedit" and press Enter.
Use at your own risks...!!
