i was looking at cribs and they was showin there house and i just want to know if they are real people in cartoon verison or they just made the whole cartoon up

Wikipedia has a good write up on this fictional band - which is spelled gorillaz.
The people who perform the music for the cartoon band are Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett . A full list of contributors is in my second link.
