Mines are arranged from most current to oldest...i.e. NWA, 2 Live Crew would be in the back, Master P and Hot Boys towards the middle and Jamie Foxx, Kanye West, TI would be in the front. However, there are some artists who I have several CDs from so they are all grouped together from first release to most current. I also group the music types too: Rap together, R&B together, Gospel together and Reggae together. Wanna know how my clothes, shoes, purses and belts are arranged?...Don't even get me started.

Female Artist, Male Artist, Group, Movie Soundtrack, Compilation CD.
That's the first Set of grouping THEN each subgroup is first if I have Multiple CD's by that person and then if I only have one cd they follow randomly so like it'll be Destiny child Survior, Destiny Child Destiny fulfilled and then Dru Hill or something like that.
I have issues

I usually arrange my cds by music genre.
But when I decide to play some or bring some to my PC, everything gets out of whack and I stick them where there is a space....lol

I arrange them alphabetically inside CD sleeves. I take out the liner notes and the CD, throw out the jewel case and slide them into their sleeves. Because I usually listen to music while I'm at the computer, I also burn the CD into my hard-drive as well.

I record all of mine as an .mp3 file on my laptop and use a jukebox to organize them. Mine is Musicmatch .. fabulous. It organizes by artist, album, genre, etc. I can pick songs or set it to play randomly every song or different groups of songs by genre. My CDs go into a cabinet as back up for my hard drive.

From left to right, Favorite toward the left, least favorite toward the right
That way when I am looking for a CD, it is eazy and fast to find
since they are usually toward the left?

I organize the bands alphabetically, then names of the album with in the band alphabetically. Of course the last part depends on whether I have more than one CD by the same band.
