Corn requires full sun. I have tried a lot of varieties in my garden, and it is very evident that the rows next the fence that get some morning shade don't do well at all, and usually don't produce. Most very fast growing grasses like corn require a lot of water and sun to build up their stems, leaves and fruits. That's why very little grass grows in shade, and those that do aren't very aggressive and don't grow tall

I don't think so. Corn is a sun-lover by nature. I am an experienced gardener, and have never heard of a shade-loving variety of corn. That's not to say that it doesn't exist; keep searching.

There is no variety of corn that I know of because all corn requires full sun in order to thrive.
