If it's a stock cam, there will be a line on the sprocket. Line this up with the correcponding lines on the head (inside the cover). When both valves are closed, this is TDC.

The timing marks are actually on the rotor - remove the big bolt on the side cover to view the marks - usually a line I a 'T' and an 'F'.

It's been awhile. That model might not have any marks on the head.
-Turn the cam so the lobes aren't touching the rocker arms.
-Piston at TDC and line up the T mark on the flywheel.
-The cam shaft has a line up pin for the sprocket.
-Place the sprocket on the cam.
-The cam will be approximatly in the correct position.
-If there is a timing mark on the sprocket, it either points straight up or side ways.
-If there is no mark, then the sprocket bolts are horizontal
with the cyl / head.
-Double check the timing after you install the tensioner. Turn the crank slowly. Any resistance and the piston is probably hitting a valve.
-Piston at TDC - T mark on flywheel lined up - Cam lobes not touching the rocker arms.
