Anything is possible! They don't deny people over the age of 40 marriage liscences, of course its possible. If its something you two both want and moving your families together is a realistic and potentially beneficial idea, by all means give it some serious thought. On the other hand don't feel like you have to get married just because you're in love. Love is love, marriage is a legal contract that binds you to another person.

whether or not you actually go through a legal marriage ceremony is entirely up to you. after all the "wedding" ceremony is really just a public declaration of your committment to each other.
obviously you are both old enough to know your own minds & if you are comfortable with living in a committed relationship without being " married" than that is what is right for you.
45 is certanily not too old - have seen reports of people in their 80's getting married
FORGET about anyone elses opinions.
GOOD LUCK & BEST WISHES
whatever your decision

If you get along well with each other and all the kids on both sides can agree to your marriage, also remember you both probably have X`s , in laws, grandparents, etc. you must take this all under consideration. It definitely won`t be easy, but it is possible. My advice is go with your gut instincts and not your heart. YOU ASKED THE QUESTION, THINK ABOUT IT!!!
I hope that things work out, my best wishes to you and your family.

Your in doubt so your love is not strong no matter what you say or you wouldn't be on here asking.
My advice to you is marriage is a thing that can wait. If he loves you like he says he does....then skip marriage and try to continue your relations on a good scale. If he hangs good his intentions may be right, but if he fails...you outsmarted the Fox:):)

That is entirely up to you!!! The kids might get along, they might not. The only way to find out, is to move into 1 house together.

Sure, if the two of you truly love each other, and want to be together , why not? 45 is certainly not old, and you don't want to live alone, do you? I say, "Go for it!"

If you want to, other people can't tell you to get married. Hope things work out for you.
