for me, my own views are i don't hate americans but i dislike the way the country has portrayed itself to the world, though that's mostly because of george bush himself. i felt that what happened was horrible and evil and that innocent people were caught up in the frenzy. although i do NOT condone the actions of al-qaeda, i understand why they did it. yet five years on... osama bin laden is yet to be caught.

tommorow on monday, as we are about to commemorate the loss of lives in the september 11 attacks, i was wondering what your thoughts were on this 5 years ago, and what your views are on this today. since the war on terror, has your views changed overall? what were your initial feelings when you saw the planes smash into the twin towers? do you hate america or americans? have tony blair and george bush incited further hatred and caused division between muslims and non muslims beause of their decisions to invade iraq? thanks for reading this and please, no offensive language.

look, i am sorry if i caused offence. i didn't mean for you to react in this way. i didn't say i supported what they did, but neither did i expect such a strong response from you lot. all i was trying to do was say what's on my mind and frankly, i am now feeling really upset about this now.

How many innocent people did die as a result of the 9/11 attacks?
How many innocent people have died in Afghanistan and Iraq since then? I'd like to see some figures - or would that be too embarrassing?
How many people have been killed in Chechnya, because Putin feels justified as a result of the 'war of terror'? How have the Uighur/Muslim Chinese been affected and killed and tortured, because China feels justified to increase persecution because of the 'war on terror'?

I think that relations between east & west have deteriated in the past 5 years. My thoughts tomorrow, as they were 5 years ago, will be with the innocent victims, not just of the attacks on the twin towers, but also all who have died in the Middle East, the Balkans, Iraq, London, Paris, Madrid, etc. We mustn't demonise Muslims, most of whom are peace loving people, but in my view any government or individual who shelters or supports terrorism in any form is an accessory to murder. I think Blair's support for Bush has incited racial hatred in Britain - hence the London bombs. May all our Gods protect and bless all victims of violence.

you understand why they did it? you have voiced your oppinion, without censorship, that is just one aspect of being an american. You understand why they killed innocent people that had nothing to do with who makes government policies. They are a bunch of chicken sh*t's!! They didn't go to the white house, go to the united nations buildings, etc. They took commercial planes with men women and children, who would if they saw the young man drop his suitcase and it popped open for example, would stop and help him pick it up, and used them as living bombs!!! They weren't marters, they were brainwashed men, who keep their women in Burkas, who think with little common sense and reasoning, who actually are brainwashed to thinking Murder is going to get them 72 virgins when they die, when I have heard in the koran, murder is a no no. They were and are fed a bunch of crap passed down from little old miserable men who want to force hate america on everyone over there that they can. They have no grocery stores, they live in discust, they treat their dogs better than they do women and female children, they think with about 5% of what they are capeable of using, and are angry cause in America, we may have problems, but we've got it made here!!!!! Our country has helped every country that has ever been in trouble, without hesitation. No I do not hate America or our citizens, born and raised here and thankful I was. I do not like the crime issues here, the chemical drug problems we have, the missing children, the other really bad things that occur, but that isn't cause by the masses, you wherever you are only hear the Top Story of the day cause it makes for interesting news. You don't hear all the other good stuff. One man was elected to represent us as a country, that does not mean we all agree with the decisions that he makes, but being an American Citizen means you are allowed to disagree without being taken into a soccer field and having your brains blown out!

I understand the reasons behind the attack also. You can't cause the deaths of 500,000 children (in Iraq from the sanctions we refused to change to stop the deaths) and expect karma not to kick your butt. If it hadn't been UBL, someone else would have done it.

It's sad innocents here died but Al Q was just following the usual world trend, which is to use violence as a solution to problems. We need a 'war' on violence instead of 'terror', including the violent acts of the US against other civilians.

when the attacks happened it happened to all of America.weather you were in New York,or just watching on t.v.,it effected all of us.we all the right to feel the way we want to,and no one should make someone else feel bad for the way they feel.i am 30 years old and this was the most shocking thing that has ever happened in my life.I truly feel that bin-ladin should have already been caught,I feel it is Bush's fault{and no one else}that he hasn't been caught.

Wouldn't it be nice if bin laden happened to get caught tomorrow?

Americans are going to memorialize the day by flying the flag from every house and every business...and shame on those who don't.

We don't really care what you think about Bush or Blair.

You understand WHY they did what they did ? I think that comment makes the rest of your question not worth reading or answering.

There isn't a good reason for murdering innocent people.
You say you don't condone it but you understand it .... hmmm.
Thank God or someone that it wasn't you or your family in there. My word.
