You can put all plants outside when it's warm. The indoor plants cannot survive when it's cold.

I'm not an expert in this but, the only real difference as far as I can see is the climate variations.
For instance I live in south west England so the plants i grow in my house are mostly from the tropics ( such as peace lillies, orchids etc) which would not grow in my garden.
You can also use different spaces to create the perfect environment for a plant. Ferns for example really respond to a warm damp environment so many people grow then in their bathroom.
I suppose that if you lived in the very far north ( or south pole ) all your plants would be indoors ones and if you lived on the equator and wanted to grow heathers or alpines you'd have to create the environment for them inside your house.

One type (and I'd have to look up & check) is actually kept INSIDE the house while the the other....you might want to wright this part down......got a pen, I'll wait.................OK?

The other plant IS NOT keptin the house. OK?

NOW.......go read your text book!!

Indoor Plants have been housebroken.

Outdoor Plants will pee on the carpet unless you watch them carefully.

You are welcome!
