you ARE an American. Everyone here has a different "ethnicity" Americans are made up of ALL races. A person may look Japanese, but, if they were born here, they are just as American as anybody else born here, AND lived and grew up in the U.S. In the United States the differences here are things like accents. It doesn't matter if you're black, white, latino, oriental, etc....if you grew up in the states , you're more likely to be "from up North" or "from down South". and that's it.

By ethnicity I am half German, one quarter Scottish, one eighth Welsh and one eighth Mutt from that general area. But, I'm all American. The vast majority of us have our ancestry from other places. As, I imagine, does most of the world in this day and age.

I say you are an Indian. My sister is born in Australia but she is an Indian, all the way and so am I.

Because you were born in USA there fore you are American Indian. If that's make you feel better. Otherwise you are what you want to be.
