In theory, we come into the world with a set amount of intelligence. Like hair, you cant get more than you already have. You can, however, maximize what you got. Most people don't bother to do this.
Read - paying strict attention to words you do not understand. Find the meanings of new words and use them till you own them.
When you find an opinion on a subject, look for, or formulate a contrary opinion on the same subject. Spar with yourself.
Be fearless in your internal search.
Read books on opinion. Read non fiction, read magazines. Study subjects. Study the globe.
Intelligence is like anything - it requires constant attention to expand.

There are different types of intelligence. It depends on what type of intelligence you want to increase:
- mathematical & logical: do puzzles, logic games and play videogames ;)
- social: go out with friends, meet new people
- literal & cultural: read books
