I believe it would do a world of good for these inbreds to meet people from other countries and experience what true culture is.

Absolutely. Patriotism is fine but after seeing a bit of the world, I cringe when I imagine what my perspectives would ne like if I had stayed in one place for my whole life. Isn't the statistic something like two thirds of Americans have never traveled otside the USA and 20% have never left their state? Seems crazy to vote for a guy that keeps invading other countries when you have never been past the end of your street.

All Americans should. Then maybe they would realize just how good they have it in the United States so they wouldn't complain so much.

I'm almost done with my second year in Iraq and I still support our President and what we are doing here. Maybe some of you liberals should come over here.

You don't believe the US has true culture. Well aren't you just special. How closed minded can a person be? Our culture has influenced many many other cultures because it is unique yet diverse. Maybe everybody needs to come to the United States also and experience OUR true culture.

Everyone in the US should. It should be encouraged rather than rushing everyone into the work force. Imagine if every American was outside the US for some time. We wouldn't have the international perception issues, nor the close minded people running the country. OK maybe they would still be closed minded, but maybe less.

Maybe- I've never been out of the country but when I was in college I used to try to get to know international students so I could have some clue about life was like in other countries. That was how I learned their were blacks in places like Brazil way before the president did. A couple of years ago my niece had a Chance to teach English in Korea. I told her you pass up this opportunity I will slap you silly. (she went is glad)
But I've also met Mormons who have gone on missions in foreign countries and seem to have spent the whole time there in a plastic bubble. You ask them what is Delhi/Veracruz/Lagos really like and they'll say "it's dirty" or "I converted four families." IT sort of seems their goal is to turn Delhi/Veracruz/Lagos in to Provo, Utah, and they don't learn a thing.
I think if we send some people abroad, without somehow teaching them how to open their minds, they will just see what they want to see.

I believe that ALL NEO-CONS should spend the rest of their lives abroad, working for the peace that they promised in Iraq and other areas of the world where they have stuck their arrogant noses!! I think it's GREAT that they're finally in for a dogfight this November!! Your question is a good one, and those ignorant Neo-Cons who run for president should AT LEAST have such a requirement!

Awesome idea, Billy. Maybe the peace corps.

In general, it is good to meet not just people who are different from you, but also people with greatly different perspectives. It can be frustrating, but broadening.

The tone of your question is pretty offensive dude. Don't be so inflammatory.

I think all of us would benefit from volunteering at a soup kitchen/ homeless shelter.
