We have the most highly funded and supposedly best intelligence services in the world, yet we didn't notice 20 young foreign men come into the country with a complicated terrorist plot? My guess is we saw it coming. But with the economic decline in the late 90s and our groing need for oil, the gov't wanted 9/11 to happen. After the attack and the inevitable public outcry for vengence, the gov't new it would have a blank check to go after "terrorists" around the world, at the same time creating new military bases and securing natural resources for our hungry economy. These are the same type of people who didn't see the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor coming, even though an entire carrier fleet had disappeared in northern Pacific waters and Tokyo had a serious reason to be angry toward us because of the embargo the US placed against the Japanese. Yet WWII secured our position as one of the most powerful nations in the world. What would the gov't have to lose? They had so much to gain.

you are absolutely right about the govt. using the attack to defend their aggresive notions against the oil rich nations. the govt. was also aware of the pearl harbor attack prior to its occurance. roosevelt needed a way to get the american people to agree to the u.s.a. getting into wwll. there were warnings ahead of time about the pearl harbor attack, but they were covered up, just as bush covers up the real facts about iraq.

It is amazing to me the fantasy land some people live in that they could not possibly see that this was allowed to happen. All you have to do is look at Cheney's connections to Haliburton and all the money they are raking in. There are so many discrepancies out there but you have to find real news it certainly is not gonna be shown or told on the main channels. Also the fact that Bush "just doesn't think about Bin Laden" tell us he really does not care but uses 911 to further his agenda. I am guessing many of these people still believe in Santa Clause and would freak if you told them he wasn't bringing their presents at Christmas.

It is a shame that a nation that started 200 years ago based on some pretty lofty ideas could devolve into this system based on corruption and crooked politics. The Korean War, the Vietnam War can also be linked to a government that needed to start or participate in a war. No wonder we Americans have to endure terrorism today. It is this government, that is supposed to represent us, that causes world hatred toward us.

Read the book "Jawbreaker." It waqs written by the CIA agent in charge when the U.S. first went to Afgahnistan and the first person sent after BinLaden even before the 9-11 attacks. There is a lot that was known and never realased to the public.

America never having been invaded had no true appreciation of what sort of threat it was facing.
I am sure that they did have intelligence warnings, but they felt inviolate to some degree.
What a wake up call that was......!
Maybe America should be looking much more closely at home grown terrorism rather than the poor souls sequestered in Guantanamo Bay.....
I don't wan to see any of my friends lives wasted because of America's next wake up call!

I feel Bush did not protect us Americana's from 9/11 due to he knew something may be going on but DID NOT warn us about it until after it happen then our State colors heighten up...O.K. kinda mess up there don't ya think?????

Do you know the name of the guy who went into your basement to read the water meter? Do you know the name of the guy you handed your credit card to last? Do you know the background of the last three families who moved into your community? Do you know the names of the children your kids associate with in school? Do you know the name of the gentleman driving the gasoline delivery truck to your local gas station? Do you know the intentions of the guy flying in that plane over your house right now? No I dont think the government saw it coming on 9/11. Coming soon, but not coming 9/11.
